EFF to the YES, Kelly! I've been writing a version of this myself. I claim no party and while proudly voted with my consciousness for a woman, I am becoming the neutral witness to it all. I can see clearly now and am still learning. As I wrote the day after the election, it's time for community not individualism. I am really sick of individualism, survival of the fittest, wealthiest, stepping on others to fight for the claim to the top of the mountain to only realize there's another mountain to climb. I'm tired of selfish, egotistical, know-it-all righteousness. I want politicians to be civil servants not bought and sold by companies to become oligarchs.

Wow, that urge toward community is all around us. Love this synergy Shelley!

"I’m a change-maker, and the only thing I can change is myself." Ain't that the truth?! It's becoming increasingly clear that this is this only way to get to any systemic change: pay attention to yourself, change yourself. The system will system. We observe, learn and work inwards.

Love your words Kelly.

Kelly, a loved reading this post. Wow, reeling from it actually. 15 million votes vanished? Why is no media outlet talking about this? It’s huge. Somehow in my gut, it all felt wrong. Not real. Again, thank you for every single bit of it. ❤️

Ah, this was the essay I needed to signpost my way through the World's Dreaming here on the waking side of things. As a fellow Independent (status not party), I'm not surprised you are too. Although--there was that one time, I thought maybe I'd be a Libertarian then realized a party is a party is a party and I was never invited anyhow. I did switch to Democrat for primaries because I was in love with Elizabeth Warren's mind. Then, sadly withdrew when she didn't make it through the primaries. I also practice Bibliomancy and appreciate learning the term. Any book, not just poetry. You know, we were given contrast by which to shape our Selves. When people strive for sameness they miss these wonderful awe moment of discovering serendipity because everything is already the same. No contrast. Thank you, Kelly!

Wonderfully put, thank you!

But why only females?

I belonged to a very esoteric Goddess worshipping, Goddess-identifying cult, most of whom were females. I'm still digesting whether or not some of its precepts bordered on toxicity...

Not “only” females if you’re referring to this comment “The Poetry Church of Misfits welcomes hungry females. The hungrier, the better.” More like “hungry” females. 😉
