LIVE STREAM with Shavaun Scott Psychotherapist and Author of Nightbird: A Memoir
Nightbird, Shavaun Scott's haunting memoir, sheds light on intimate partner abuse leading to revenge suicide, and the long transformation of self through growth and recovery.
TNWWY exists to advocate for the recognition and full access to the original wholeness that is our birthright, no matter what we have faced. This space is here to deconstruct everything that stands in the way.
HOW TO JOIN THE LIVESTREAM:
https://open.substack.com/live-stream/23235?
You’ll receive an email from me at 12 noon PDT on Wednesday, April 30, letting you know that the livestream has begun so you can join us.

Important:
Viewers will need the Substack iOS or Android app to watch the live video.
When I go live, subscribers can join in several ways through the app:

From your reading queue, where the livestream will automatically appear
Directly from my publication page under the Notes section
You will NOT be on camera — I can’t see you — but I can see your name when you join and your live chat comments.
The chat moves fast, and while I may not catch everything while talking with Shavaun, I’ll read as much as I can.
If you don't see the email right at noon, just open your Substack app and check the Notes section — the livestream will be there.

COMING MAY 6: Breaking Free — A Collaborative Look at Family Scapegoating Abuse (FSA)
In the first conversation of our new collaborative series, I’ll be in live conversation with Rebecca C. Mandeville, LMFT— the therapist who coined the term Family Scapegoating Abuse and authored Rejected, Shamed, and Blamed: Help and Hope for Adults in the Family Scapegoat Role the first research-based book on the subject. Rebecca publishes two Substack newsletters Healing the Scapegoat Wound: FSA Education Support Community and The Inviolate Self with Rebecca C. Mandeville, LMFT
This event will center on Rebecca’s personal and professional journey, her groundbreaking work with Family Scapegoating Abuse (FSA), and her book Rejected, Shamed, and Blamed — exploring what FSA is, how it manifests, and what recovery can look like for those who have lived it.
It also marks the beginning of a monthly livestream series, where Rebecca and I will explore not only FSA, but a wide range of themes related to trauma — including religious and spiritual — the transpersonal dimensions of healing, evolution, the lineage of healers before us, and the deeper return to our original wholeness — alternating between our platforms.
Rebecca brings decades of clinical expertise. I bring my perspective as a writer grounded in long-term recovery and my own training as an LCSW.
Join us Monday, May 6 at 12PM PDT.
Livestream access will be sent to subscribers that morning.

We’d love to have you with us.
Thank you for telling other readers about TNWWY and for supporting my work with a paid subscription. Your financial support allows me to spend time writing, advocating, and amplifying the voices of others in recovery—uncovery from anything: addiction, religious trauma, spiritual abuse, domestic violence, family scapegoating, perfectionism, and the many ways disconnection and harm leave their mark.
TNWWY(ATNW) exists to advocate for the recognition and full access to the original wholeness that is our birthright, no matter what we have faced. This space is here to deconstruct everything that stands in the way.
If you can’t afford a paid subscription, just let me know and I’ll comp you one.
I hope you’ll enjoy being part of this growing community by participating in our private Chat discussions at

If you’re into imperfect healing, questionable decisions, and laughing at the whole beautiful mess, you’re in the right place.
